Attention Driving Instructors using Vauxhall Corsa as Training Vehicle
Feb 15 2008
Vauxhall are recalling a number of its Corsa-D cars because of a potential fault with the steering .The problem is with the intermediate shaft of the steering, which may not be ‘according to specification’. If this were to break the vehicle would no longer be steerable.
The DSA has issued notice to all test centres that tests using these cars should only be conducted if:
The vehicle is fitted with dual controls, so that in case of failure, the examiner may assist in control of the car. Or If documentation is supplied to show that remedial work has been carried out to fix the problem.
The vehicles affected are those, which fall in the following VIN range:
Model Plant From To
Corsa-D Zaragoza 7 4029534 7 4233663 Corsa-D Eisenbach 7 6021542 7 6087940
Vauxhall are contacting their customers in a mailing campaign, however if you are a driving instructor, using a Corsa-D as a training vehicle, contacts your local dealership.
